Prof Roeland Nolte (President of the Scientific Advisory Board) has sadly passed away

The Jean-Marie Lehn Foundation is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Prof. Roeland Nolte, Emeritus Professor of Organic Chemistry at Radboud University in Nijmegen (Netherlands), and President of the Foundation’s Scientific Advisory Board since 2018.

At the age of 79, Roeland Nolte was a member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and held a special chair in Molecular Nanotechnology from the Royal Academy. He was considered one of the pioneers in the field of supramolecular chemistry. He published numerous studies on supramolecular assembly, biomimetic catalysts, and their applications in the field of nanomaterials and medicine.

Always attentive and caring, Roeland Nolte was an essential pillar within the foundation, bringing his scientific expertise to serve the community of Strasbourg chemists. He worked diligently alongside the Foundation to promote scientific excellence, encourage innovation, and support researchers in their ambitious projects.

The Foundation, its President Bernard Meunier, its Director Thomas Ebbesen, and the entire team extend their heartfelt condolences and support to his family and loved ones.
