As the health crisis has left many students facing both financial and psychological difficulties, the ECPM and the Strasbourg Association of Chemical Engineers (AICS) are taking action and launching a new, long-term living stipend program to support the most vulnerable students while promoting their success.
The health crisis has brought to light the hardships faced by some students. It has exacerbated difficulties that already existed and underscores even more strongly the need for a firm commitment to ensure that these financial aid programs continue beyond the crisis.
Since 2020, an unprecedented outpouring of solidarity has emerged among the school’s alumni and staff: €25,640 was raised through 116 donations. Most importantly, 18 students received support —a great success! Thanks to this effort, these students were able to continue eating properly, pay their rent, and gain access to computer equipment to participate in remote classes.
Thanks to donations, this “Scholarships for Life” program will provide personalized support to every ECPM student facing financial hardship, notably by covering a portion of their rent. Scholarships will be awarded based on social, economic, and family criteria, in collaboration with the CROUS social services department.
